On Tuesday afternoon, party secretary Maria Forsberg announced that newly elected MP Mohamed Abdukardir Ali, who took his seat via personal vote, is taking a "timeout". This is because an investigation is underway into suspected election fraud in Dalarna, something that Mohamed Abdukardir Ali denies being involved in.
However, taking a "timeout" is not a formal concept in the Riksdag. Abdukardir Ali therefore needs to be present at the Riksdag's meeting next week and request leave, and have his leave application granted by the Riksdag, for Fredholm, the Left Party's first name on the Dalarna Riksdag list, to be able to replace him.
