She has 2.5 million followers on Instagram and Donald Trump is her grandfather. Now Kai Trump is making her LPGA Tour debut – despite the 18-year-old's modest golf credentials.

A 461st place in the American junior rankings does not normally result in any invitations to the world's best tour.

But Kai Trump isn't just anyone. She's the granddaughter of President Trump and as a golf influencer, she has a huge following.

There is no indication that Kai Trump will be able to compete with the absolute world elite, but she has already managed to create extra interest in the competition.

The whole idea of a sponsor invitation is to create attention around the competition and we are already noticing that Kai's following on Instagram (2.5 million) has contributed to increased interest, says Annika Sörenstam according to Aftonbladet.

The Swedish golf icon has named this week's LPGA tour event The Annika in Belleisle, Florida.

It's a big difference compared to last year, for example, I've never seen so many Secret Service agents here before, says Sörenstam.

She played a few holes with Kai Trump during one of the recording sessions. The advice Trump received was similar to what she had already received from both her grandfather Donald and Tiger Woods, who has been with the 18-year-old's mother Vanessa for some time.

"To go out and have fun. To enjoy it, because you only play your first competition once," says Kai Trump.

Six Swedes are participating in the competition, which begins on Thursday. Next week, the LPGA season ends with the tour finale in Naples, Florida.
