Dutch speed skater and social media personality Jutta Leerdam is the girlfriend of influencer Jake Paul.
Leerdam has over five million followers on Instagram and initially refused to give interviews on arrival in Milan, prompting a formal complaint from the Dutch Sports Journalists' Association.
Finally, she agreed to an interview with the state-run NOS.
"I've wanted to stay in my own bubble a bit and prepare for the races. That way I don't have to share as much," said Leerdam.
Previously, the skating star was criticized for flying on a private plane to Italy while her teammates flew on regular flights.
Today she competes in the women's 1,000 meters, in which she won silver at the 2022 Olympics.
