"Voices of solidarity" is the award, which is presented by the organization Vital Voices to highlight "men who have shown courage and empathy and expressed their support for vulnerable women and girls", writes The Independent.
Now, the organization has announced that it is withdrawing the award after the allegations against Justin Baldoni became known. Vital Voices writes on its website that the behavior that Baldoni is alleged to have exhibited, as seen in the text messages included in the lawsuit, "goes against the organization's values".
There has been a storm surrounding the film "Five Feet Apart", as director and lead actor Justin Baldoni was initially praised, but is now accused of having sexually harassed Blake Lively during filming – and then, together with various PR people, launching a smear campaign against Lively.
Documents from the filming reveal that Justin Baldoni and the film's producer Jamey Heath are said to have commented on Lively's body, tried to get her to do more sex scenes than what was in the contract, and shown nude pictures of other women.
Now, Liz Plank also announces that she will no longer be part of the project. She, Baldoni, and "Five Feet Apart" producer Jamey Heath started the podcast together in 2021. It deals with toxic masculinity and various aspects of harmful gender roles.
