"The donation means a lot for research into dementia and other diseases that affect large parts of the population," says KI's Vice-Chancellor Annika Östman Wernerson in a press release.
The entrepreneur and inventor Leif Lundblad, who passed away last year, bequeathed the sum to KI. It will primarily be used for research into dementia and related disorders.
Some of the money will also go to studies of other conditions with a major impact on public health, including chronic pain and autoimmune diseases.
