The trial against the 55-year-old Combs has been ongoing since May 5, and has been enormously noticed worldwide. No cameras or TV cameras have been allowed in the court, but the media reporting has nonetheless been massive during the eight weeks the trial has lasted.

34 people have testified against him and from the witness stand, he has, among other things, been accused of rape, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. But what he is being prosecuted for is a case of extortion, two cases of sex trade and two cases of trafficking.

It is the indictment of extortion – in English "racketeering", crimes committed as part of organized crime – that the jury has not been able to agree on.

In connection with so-called "freak-offs", parties with drugs and sexual elements, he has, according to the indictment, assaulted both women and a couple of boys during a period of over 20 years. In total, over 120 people have accused Combs of crimes.

Combs, who was arrested in September last year, has denied the crimes but admitted that he was violent against his ex-girlfriend during an incident that was caught on film in 2016. He himself has not testified during the trial.
