The junta leader of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, has dismissed the country's prime minister and dissolved the government, reports AFP.
"The prime minister's official functions are terminated", it states in a presidential order which the news agency has taken part of.
No reason has been given for the dismissal of Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem de Tambèla, who was appointed prime minister in October 2022 after the military coup that brought Captain Ibrahim Traoré to power.
Traoré's military junta took power in 2022 and overthrew a military leadership that had seized power through violence earlier the same year.
