The incident occurred while Ariana Grande was in Singapore for the Asian premiere of the film “Wicked: For Good” last week. A man jumped over the guardrail and ran up to grab a visibly shocked Grande. Only after Grande’s co-star Cynthia Erivo came to the rescue was the man, with the help of security personnel, able to let go of Grande and was then taken away.
The following day, the man was arrested by the Singapore police and later formally charged with disorderly conduct, something he pleaded guilty to. And now he has been sentenced to nine days in jail.
The 25-year-old man, who is from Australia, has previously been infamous for similar incidents. Among other things, writes Billboard , he has run up on stage in connection with concerts by, for example, The Weeknd and Katy Perry.
