The two women claim, as they did in a previous lawsuit, that they were subjected to continuous harassment and sexual assault and were forced to work in slave-like conditions in Iglesias' residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas during 2021.
Earlier this year, the Spanish Public Prosecutor's Office dropped the charges due to lack of jurisdiction. Prosecutors in Spain are "not competent to investigate crimes committed abroad when there are no relevant links to the country," it said at the time.
Now the women are requesting that the Spanish National Court reinvestigate the allegations, writes El País .
