Julie Blakstad's Last-Minute Goal Lifts Hammarby to Damallsvenskan Lead

Beautiful, late and as lovely as possible. Julie Blakstad's delicious lob sank Djurgården in the derby and took Hammarby to the top of the Damallsvenskan series lead. The Norwegian's decisive 2-1 goal came in the 90th minute. Completely indescribable, says Blakstad to Viaplay.

With the win, Hammarby passed both Malmö FF and Häcken and are one point ahead of Häcken with one round left to play before the series takes a break for the European Championship finals.

It started as well as it ended for "Bajen".

Goal-scoring is not something that is primarily associated with the Japanese defender Asato Miyagawa. In the debut season 2024 in Hammarby, Miyagawa celebrated as a goal-scorer on one occasion.

Early lead

She waited until the eleventh round to score her first Allsvenskan goal of the season – and that already after three minutes of play in the top match.

An unnecessary goal on a corner, says Djurgården's Elsa Pelgander to Viaplay.

Hammarby had bids on more goals, so evident was the dominance in front of the record audience of 3,312 spectators at Hammarby IP. But the inability to get in the 2-0 ball punished themselves.

With less than a quarter left, the equalizer came. Anna Tamminen parried Mimmi Larsson's shot, but the Hammarby goalkeeper went all too aggressively into the duel on the return she released. Substitute Larsson was first on the ball, not Tamminen's hands.

"Many emotions"

Norwegian Therese Sessy Åsland placed calmly and skillfully in 1-1.

But in the end, Hammarby got paid – retroactively – for their evident game superiority. Blakstad turned and shot unexpectedly and the ball went in an arc over Anna Koivunen.

Incredible atmosphere, nice weather. There are many emotions. It's a tough match but we make a fine effort, says Julie Blakstad.

Djurgården is now up to ten straight matches without a win in the derbies against Hammarby.

Hammarby will end the spring season away against IFK Norrköping on Sunday. On the same day, Djurgården will host Växjö.
