On Friday, Julia Simon pleaded guilty to theft and fraud against national team colleague Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and was sentenced to three months' probation and a fine of 15,000 euros.
Now, the French Ski Federation, where biathlon is included, has called a meeting in the disciplinary committee to discuss possible penalties for Simon.
According to the TV channel RMC, Simon can either avoid punishment, be suspended for a period or even be expelled from the national team.
The 29-year-old came third in the overall World Cup last season and took four World Championship gold medals. She is one of the biggest favorites in the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina in February.
