The judo club in Gothenburg requires all children to perform a bow during training.
"We have explained that, as Muslims, we only bow before God and have therefore offered several alternative greetings to show respect," the parent writes in his report to the DO, according to Göteborgs-Posten.
The parent believes that Muslim children are thereby excluded. In an email to GP, the club says the bow is a respectful greeting performed in line with the Swedish Judo Federation's guidelines and that the intention was not to discriminate.
