A judge in Bolivia has issued an arrest warrant against the country's former president Evo Morales after he failed to appear in court in a case where he is accused of sexual abuse. Morales is said to have had a child with a 15-year-old girl.
Evo Morales ruled the South American country for 13 years until 2019. He is alleged to have made the teenager pregnant in 2016, which means that he, according to Bolivian law, has committed rape. He has previously denied the allegations and claimed that it is a conspiracy.
The prosecutor handling the case states that they will now investigate whether Morales has committed a crime after he failed to appear in court.
