A Florida judge has ordered the release of new documents related to the prosecution of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The documents in question are transcripts from grand jury hearings in investigations in 2005 and 2007 in which Epstein was accused of trafficking.

After a plea deal with prosecutors, Epstein was sentenced to 18 months in prison in 2008 for sex trafficking. He also entered into a non-disclosure agreement with federal authorities.

According to the judge, the release of the otherwise classified documents is made possible by a new law, specially written to be able to publish as many documents as possible from the investigation into the activities and contacts of businessman and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
