The culture war surrounding Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" continues to rage. After the furor over the cast's skin colour on the political right, the film's quality is now being discussed in more left-leaning circles.
Wilson, who translated “The Odyssey” in 2017, wrote in the London Review of Books that Nolan’s script was “lousy” and that “none of the characters have credible motives for their actions or lines. There are no sex scenes and all the food looks terrible.”
According to Joyce Carol Oates, author of the Marilyn Monroe novel “Blonde,” Wilson uses “the same crude language as Maga advocates” toward anyone with different opinions. Oates suggests that the translator of X should be “a little more thoughtful and respectful.”
