Alsing was editor-in-chief at Aftonbladet between 1985 and 1987 and worked as political editor-in-chief at the newspaper from 1987 to 2001.
As early as 1974, he became Sweden's youngest editor-in-chief at Nya Norrland in Ångermanland, at the age of 26.
Rolf Alsing passed away on Tuesday. The family told Aftonbladet:
"Doctors said that Rolf must have had nine lives; he survived both cancer and a heart attack. But now he was in his last life - it ended on Tuesday. He fell asleep peacefully and beautifully surrounded by family."
Rolf Alsing was the father of program host Adam Alsing, who passed away from complications from Covid in April 2020.
