The comedy “The Storm” is Josephine Bornebusch’s new project on Netflix. The director herself plays one of the roles in the film, which is about a dramatic – and comedic – 45th birthday celebration at a luxurious estate in northern Sweden.

The celebration takes an unexpected turn when a storm isolates the guests from the outside world.

“I am so happy that this fantastic ensemble wanted to make this crazy comedy with me – they are really incredible actors and I am so proud that they dared to throw themselves out and gave it their all for the film", says Bornebusch in a press release.

Josephine Bornebusch has made several successful projects for Netflix in recent years. She directed three episodes of the acclaimed British drama series “Baby Reindeer” and last autumn, her film “Släpp taget” premiered on the streaming service.

“The Storm” is set to premiere in 2026. Jonas Karlsson, Johan Rheborg, and Christopher Wagelin are also on the cast list.
