The series "Margrethe" is about Denmark's former queen and is described as a Danish equivalent to the British "The Crown". It is also expected to be one of the largest and most expensive TV projects in Danish television history, reports TV 2.
Josefin Asplund (“Parterapi i Gagnef”, “Skiftet”, “Vikings”) plays Queen Margrethe’s mother, the Swedish-born Queen Ingrid. King Frederik IX is played by Nikolaj Lie Kaas.
The first season of "Margrethe" is scheduled to air on Danish television no earlier than 2027.
