The film director Josef Fares changed profession and started creating games instead. Now one of his successful productions is to be filmed. But Fares is not taking the director's chair himself.

Instead, "Wicked" director Jon M Chu will be doing the film adaptation. One of the main roles will be played by Sydney Sweeney, known from the TV series "Euphoria" and the romantic comedy "Anyone but you", writes Variety. Who will play the other major role is not known.

"Split fiction" was released as recently as in March and is a cooperative adventure game for two players who help each other to complete the assignments.

Josef Fares broke through as a director with the acclaimed "Jalla! Jalla!" and "Kopps". His latest film "Farsan" came out in 2010.
