The 24-year-old Swede lost the quarterfinal to Lucia Yepez Guzman, who took Olympic Games silver last year. When the Ecuadorian made it to the final, it gave Malmgren a new chance in the repechage – and there Laura Helin Avila, Cuba, was defeated with 9–1.
Malmgren's bronze match starts Thursday evening's final pass, at 6 pm, writes the Swedish Wrestling Federation.
Jonna Malmgren has previously won two European Championship golds and one gold in the U23 World Championship.
