It was in the fall of 2022 that the municipality in a local ordinance introduced requirements for police permits to rent out so-called one-person vehicles.
The County Administrative Board, however, revoked the decision with reference to the Public Order Act and has now been proven right even in the Administrative Court.
"Jönköping Municipality cannot in its own local ordinances set requirements for something that is already regulated by the Public Order Act", writes the Administrative Court in a press release.
The municipality's chief lawyer, Lars-Åke Svensson, however, sees the verdict as a victory.
Then we are satisfied. We wanted to have it tested whether this is covered by the Public Order Act, since the police in different parts of Sweden had different opinions about it, he says.
So if the Public Order Act applies, there are no problems, on the contrary, it's great.
