Lekkerimäki, 22, is on track for a major NHL breakthrough this season. Against Anaheim, the Swede scored both the 4–5 and 5–5 goals in the final three minutes of the third period to force overtime.
In overtime, Lekkerimäki assisted on Filip Hronek's winning goal. He now has 12 points (6+6) in 14 games.
Anaheim, for whom Leo Carlsson scored one of the goals, led 5–2 with just over seven minutes remaining.
The victory was most welcome for Vancouver after 10 straight losses. However, with just seven points, the team remains the worst in the NHL, as it was last season.
