When the book was published in Swedish in 2012, Gardell received an offer to publish it in English.
But he was advised to turn it down because a major American television company wanted to remake the TV series "Never Wipe Tears Without Gloves," he says in a press release.
"And when that happened, the wind blew and I had other things to do," says Jonas Gardell, who is now "super happy" that the book is available in English, 14 years after its original publication.
On September 24, the musical "Never Wipe Tears Without Gloves" premiered at Göta Lejon in Stockholm.
