NHL defender Jonas Brodin has been operated on for an upper body injury. This is written by The Athletic journalist Michael Russo, who follows Brodin's club Minnesota closely, on the platform X.
Minnesota's general manager Bill Guerin says according to Russo that Brodin will likely miss part of the upcoming season start.
Brodin got the green light to participate in the World Championship that was played in Sweden and Denmark earlier this year. But shortly after the championship, the injury is said to have "flared up" during training, and the Swede decided on an operation.
The 31-year-old participated in all ten matches of Tre Kronor in the World Championship, where Sweden took bronze. He has made 853 appearances during his 13 seasons in NHL.
