Jon Rahm leaves LIV Golf, saying tour’s conditions are unacceptable

Spanish star Jon Rahm is leaving the struggling LIV Golf tour.

"The conditions are unacceptable," the 31-year-old's lawyer said in a statement, reports the BBC, among others.

Two-time major winner Jon Rahm became perhaps LIV Golf's biggest star when it became clear at the end of 2023 that he was leaving the PGA Tour for the breakaway tour.

LIV Golf filed for bankruptcy protection in the US in September after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced that funding would end after 2026.

The other day, it became clear that the credit arm of finance company BC Partners is investing $300 million, equivalent to three billion kronor (about $286 million), in LIV Golf.
