John Travolta's film "Propeller One-Way Night Coach" is based on a children's book he wrote and is about a boy and his mother who take a magical journey on an airplane during Hollywood's golden age.
Travolta wrote the book in 1997 for his son Jett, and the autobiographical family film also stars his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta in the lead role.
It has previously been announced that Peter Jackson and Barbra Streisand would be awarded an honorary Palme d'Or on the festival's opening and closing nights, respectively, but in recent years a surprise Palme d'Or has also been awarded. Last year it went to Spike Lee, writes Variety.
