John Travolta wrote the book on which the film is based in 1997. It's about a boy and his mother who take a magical plane ride during the golden age of Hollywood. He wrote the book for his son Jett, who passed away in 2009 at just 16.
Travolta is strongly associated with the Cannes Film Festival, partly because "Pulp Fiction," the film in which he played gangster Vince Vega, premiered there.
This is the first time in Travolta's more than 50-year career that he has directed a feature film. The film will premiere on the Apple TV streaming service on May 29th, immediately following the festival.
