John Klingberg has been struggling with a hip injury, which has kept him out of play since November 2023, and also made him club-less since last summer. But after a long period of rehab, the Swede is now on his way back and is ready for another NHL club.
On Friday evening, it became official that Edmonton Oilers have taken in the Swede on a one-year contract.
Thus, he will not only be teammates with superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, but also the Swedish trio Mattias Ekholm, Viktor Arvidsson, and Mattias Janmark.
Previously, the Frölunda native has represented Dallas Stars, where he had the most success and reached a Stanley Cup final in 2020, but also Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, and most recently a short stint in Toronto Maple Leafs.
