Therese Johaug strongly criticizes the fact that Russian skiers now appear to be allowed into the Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina. It is completely wrong, says the Norwegian ski legend in her podcast.

This week, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) overturned the International Ski and Snowboard Federation's (FIS) decision to continue the suspension of Russian and Belarusian skiers. This has prompted Johaug to react.

A country that is at war has no business in a sports arena, she says.

She emphasizes that the criticism is not directed at individual practitioners.

You're disappointed. I have nothing against Russian skiers, but I feel like it's going to be completely wrong.

Johaug doesn't believe that activists or leaders from other countries will boycott because of Russia's comeback. She wouldn't have done so herself. She also doesn't believe in any Russian top form.

They've just been doing it for themselves, so you don't know where they stand.

Skiers from the countries must meet a number of neutrality requirements to compete this winter. For example, those participating must not have actively supported the war in Ukraine or have connections to the Russian or Belarusian military.
