It is the pole vaulter's civilian work that prevents her from participating in the championship.

She was asked but declined. She will start her employment exactly that week, so it did not work, says national team captain Kajsa Bergqvist to Expressen.

Johanna Duplantis – little sister to Armand Duplantis – beat her personal best when she jumped 4.39 in the final of the American college championships on Friday. She also became Sweden's best. Now she is aiming instead to take a place in the Finnkampen which is arranged in Stockholm at the end of August.

She has had a tough college season which she ended in the best possible way. I hope that she has the energy to keep this up now and enter a training period to be able to continue jumping well, explains Kajsa Bergqvist in the same newspaper.
