According to a press release from the major bank, Torgeby informed the board on Tuesday that he had decided to resign for personal and family reasons.
He has held the position for almost ten years and joined SEB in 2009.
Jonas Ahlström has worked at SEB since 2005 and has been a member of the executive management team since 2020.
The board is now beginning the search for a new CEO.
