Sommarström comes most recently from Sveriges Radio where he had the role as international correspondent, and replaces Wolfgang Hansson at Aftonbladet, according to a press release from the newspaper.
The recruitment is a part of the newspaper's investment in foreign and defense issues. Nivette Dawod, long-time employee at Aftonbladet becomes new foreign reporter and Niclas Vent, also previously at Aftonbladet, becomes new defense and security reporter.
"Through this, we clarify and strengthen Aftonbladet's journalism in some of the most crucial areas right now", says editor-in-chief Karin Schmidt according to the press release.
