In a press release, the chairman of Swedish Elite Football (Sef), Jens T Andersson, writes that the board made the decision after a comprehensive assessment.

"Of course, I'm disappointed that I won't be able to continue this journey. It has been a fun and tough period that has taught me an incredible amount", says Lindvall.

Johan Lindvall took up his role in the spring of 2023 and has since carried out a change project in the organization, where he, together with the board and the organization, has developed a new strategy for the coming years.

Lena Engström, currently vice secretary-general, will become acting secretary-general with immediate effect.

The board is now starting the work of recruiting a new secretary-general.

Sef is the organization for the 32 elite football clubs in Allsvenskan and Superettan.
