You must be nominated by your home country to run for the FIS board. Swedish-born Johan Eliasch, who has long lived in the UK and holds a British passport, was snubbed by both Sweden and the UK when he sought to run for another term as chairman.

Britain instead nominated Victoria Gosling for the position of chairman, and Sweden nominated Karin Mattsson for a seat on the FIS board.

According to the nomination list presented by FIS, Eliasch has acquired Georgian citizenship. The annual meeting is on June 10-11.
