Johan Asplund’s parents seek millions in compensation from the state

The parents have requested ex gratia compensation from the state, Sundsvalls Tidning and SVT Nyheter Västernorrland report. They are seeking five million kronor each for the damage and suffering they believe they have suffered.

"It is the last legal opportunity we have, as we see it, to get redress for what the Quick scandal has caused us," says Anna-Clara Asplund to SVT.

Ex gratia means that compensation is paid without anyone acknowledging legal liability.
