The 23-year-old snake has a tumour in her jaw that was discovered when her caretaker noticed she was eating less and spending more time inactive in her enclosure.
The malignant tumour was surgically removed, but the cancer had spread to the jawbone. Since Jodie Foster's snake's life was in danger, electrochemotherapy was tried, a treatment that combines chemotherapy with short electrical pulses and is usually only given to humans.
The nurses say that Jodie Foster's snake is eating normally after treatment and is "back to her usual and vibrant self," writes The Guardian.
