Wietrzyk pooped during a Hyrox competition in China in mid-September, then continued competing as feces ran down her legs and onto the track.
After the competition, which she won, she faced harsh criticism for not withdrawing, and the organizer, Hyrox World, apologized for not stopping her.
Now Wietrzyk is speaking out about the incident and its aftermath.
"I've had time over the past 6-8 weeks to reflect on what happened in Beijing, and I want to start by saying sorry to everyone who was affected," she says in a video on Instagram.
Wietrzyk says she is ready to compete again.
