Joakim Lagergren is back this year on the DP World Tour, previously the European Tour, after managing to reverse a negative trend in his career.
Right now, most things are going his way.
In May, the 33-year-old Stockholm resident managed to qualify for next week's US Open at Oakmont Country Club outside Pittsburgh. And in this week's rehearsal, Lagergren is playing excellent golf so far outside Amsterdam.
After rounds of 66 and 68 strokes (total –8), Joakim Lagergren came into the clubhouse as the leader after a windy Friday on the course. He is two strokes ahead of second-placed Ricardo Gouveia.
It's so tough out there. The toughest thing for me was probably the putting. I had three three-putts today and it doesn't even feel bad. It's just tough, a lot of gusts of wind, he says in Viaplay's broadcast.
About an hour after Lagergren finished playing, the game was interrupted due to the wind, because the balls were not staying still on the greens. Later, the game was resumed, even if some players could not complete the second round due to darkness.
Joakim Lagergren took his only victory so far on the tour in Sicily in 2018.
