Brå has interviewed 21 key individuals within Jewish activities. It is particularly representatives of Jewish congregations who tell that the activities and people working for these have been exposed to hate and threats or other anti-Semitism, both privately and in the workplace.
"Such events are perceived to have increased significantly since the terrorist attack in October 2023, but several also state that the hate tends to increase in connection with escalating conflict levels between Palestine and Israel", says David Shannon, unit manager at Brå in a press release.
Visibly Jewish people and children and young people are perceived to be particularly vulnerable. Within the school and the police, there is a lack of knowledge about anti-Semitism, the organizations state.
