Svensson came in at two under par on Saturday, but it could have been much better. He was -1 after the first nine holes, but on the back nine the Swede started off strong.
There were three straight birdies on holes 10-12. On the eleventh he was close to a hole-in-one, but the ball missed the cup by a few centimeters on the par-3 hole.
After four straight pars, however, he made a double bogey on the penultimate hole after a three-putt. He finished two under par for the day and, with a total of -11, is tied for third. He is two strokes behind sole leader Jackson Suber of the USA.
The winner of the competition in Toronto will receive a prize check worth just over 16.6 million kronor.
Corrected: In a previous version, the wrong distance to the leader was stated at the end of the text.
