In the 45th Serie A match of his career, Jesper Karlström's first goal came. The Swedish national team player initiated the goal scoring when his Udinese defeated Lecce at home, 3–2.

Jesper Karlström has this season been given the captain's armband in Udinese and is a given piece on the midfield.

After just over a quarter of an hour in the meeting with Lecce, Karlström looked more like a regular striker. He was far into the penalty area when he received a through ball. Karlström fooled an opponent with a body feint before he distinctly shot 1–0 at the first post.

The goal was the 30-year-old's first since he last year came to the club from Polish Lech Poznan.

Udinese won in the end with 3–2 and are eighth in Serie A football, on twelve points after eight played matches.
