"The decision to resign has developed over time. It is not based on any single incident," says Jesper Jansson.
"I believe in Blåvitt and in the direction the association has taken. Continuity must be in the association's strategies, processes and working methods - not depend on individuals. I feel confident that the work will be continued by skilled colleagues."
The club says that Jansson will continue to work until a replacement is recruited or, at the latest, until the end of the year.
The 55-year-old joined "Blåvitt" in the spring of 2025. Before that, he was, among other things, sporting director at Hammarby.
Gothenburg is in eleventh place in the Swedish league.
