Before he could strike again, Mika Zibanejad of the opposing team opened the second period with a goal to make it 2–2.
However, New Jersey quickly took the lead again, and Bratt scored the final, decisive goal in the 17th minute of the third period.
It is the third straight victory for New Jersey, which is now ten points behind Boston and Detroit in the hunt for the Eastern Conference's two wild card spots for the playoffs.
