Hermoso, Spain's foremost goal scorer of all time, was dropped from the squad for the European Championship in the summer and has not played for the national team in a year.
Now she is back. Hardly good news for the Swedish defenders ahead of the Nations League semi-finals in Malaga (24 October) and in Gothenburg (28 October).
Hermoso was the main character in the so-called kiss scandal after the World Championship gold in 2023. During the award ceremony on the pitch, she was, against her will, kissed on the mouth by Spain's then association president Luis Rubiales.
Rubiales resigned shortly afterwards and was later convicted of sexual assault.
