Jazz star Marilyn Mazur dies

Danish-American jazz star Marilyn Mazur has passed away, reports Sveriges Radio's Kulturnytt.

The percussionist, who was born in New York and moved to Denmark at the age of six, turned 70 years old.

In the 1980s she toured with Miles Davis and in 2001 she was awarded the Jazzpar Prize, described as the world's largest international jazz prize at the time. In 2016 she was elected as a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.
