The man admitted to having killed and dismembered nine young victims, eight of them women whom he got in contact with on Twitter, now X. The victims are said to have written about their suicidal thoughts and the man claims that he offered them help to die, reports Japanese media.

They were murdered on the same day they met and the victims' remains were found in coolers in the man's apartment in Tokyo and at a dump. He also murdered a boyfriend of one of his victims. The man was also convicted of having raped several of his victims.

The 34-year-old was executed by hanging and it was done in secret, the notification of the execution of his death penalty came afterwards.

Nine victims were beaten and strangled, killed, robbed and then mutilated, while parts of their bodies were hidden in boxes and parts were thrown at a dump, said Japanese Justice Minister Keisuke Suzuki to reporters in Tokyo on Friday.

After careful consideration, I gave the order for the execution.

The execution was the first to be carried out in Japan since 2022.
