The bear was captured after about ten hunters and police took part in the hunt, which ended happily on Tuesday after the animal was surrounded in a residential area.
After being stunned, the bear was lifted onto a truck.
On Monday and Tuesday, 94 municipal elementary and secondary schools were closed due to the bear's erratic movements.
Issei Okabe, 37, lives in a house nearby and says he is "so relieved."
"My child goes to primary school nearby," he says.
