Travellers who need a visa to enter Japan will be forced to pay significantly more from July 1.

Applying for a single-entry visa will rise to 15,000 yen, equivalent to around 900 kronor, from 3,000 yen. A multiple-entry visa will cost 30,000 yen, compared with the current 6,000 yen.

The price increase comes in response to rising prices and fluctuations in exchange rates, according to Japan.

Swedish citizens may stay in Japan for up to 90 days without a visa.
