The reigning champion Sinner needed only 81 minutes to take home the eighth with 6–1, 6–1, 6–1.
Bublik smiled when he hugged Sinner at the net after the loss, and could be heard saying to the Italian:
You are so good, this is crazy.
Sinner on his part said that Bublik's performance may have been affected by his five-setter in the previous round.
He had a very tough match in the previous match, today he did not serve as well as he usually serves, and I broke him early, said Sinner.
Overall, I am very pleased, he continued.
World number one Sinner is chasing his third Grand Slam title this year – he took home both the Australian Open and Wimbledon earlier this year but lost the French Championships after a marathon final against the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
