"Patrik Svensson has, with linguistic clarity in the spirit of Jan Fridegård, described the merciless effects of the estate system both for individuals and for the estates as a group," the citation states.
The prize is awarded every two years in Fridegård's memory to people who work in literature, film or theatre. The total prize money is SEK 100,000. Previous winners include Marit Paulsen, Susanna Alakoski and Jila Mossaed.
The award ceremony will take place on June 14, which is Jan Fridegård's birthday.
